Dilmah Charity Foundation "Different able children" most of them think different able means disable. It breaks my heart. Some people have not gotten the opportunity to be around them, and I can tell you that they are all missing out. I have been volunteering with special needs kids for five months now. This is huge part of my life, and it’s something I am very passionate about. There is so much I love about working with special needs kids I could go on forever. So, I’ll just go on a little bit. Ø I have learned to have patience -Sometimes, things take more time than usual. Some of the kids I have worked with just want to run around everywhere. Instead of getting frustrated, I keep trying to get them to do a task. When they do it, it’s a great feeling. Ø I have learned how to have determination Ø I have learned to appreciate the little things -Conversations are a huge part of our everyday lives.  Education is not all about academic learning as you always know. Every parent need to understand that good education is not always synonymous with memorizing text books or moving upto higher grades as usual. more than that every kid needs something extraordinary, like fun and learning then your child will become more smart as your wish.  I'm From Sri Lanka. I have completed my BA. Early childhood Education degree from Metropolitan college- Dehiwala. I worked at Early childhood field more than five years in Horizon International college. and suddenly I changed my field to special needs. Now I'm working as a volunteer under Dilmah charity foundation.  I have an enthusiasm and passion for children's learning, development and care. I am flexible and patient. These two skills are among the core abilities that a teacher needs to be successful in this job.  Also, I'm trained teacher, I am skilled in developing and using age-appropriate teaching materials, assessing learner's performance, and offering a safe environment for learning and I'm capable of dealing with both field.
